Family Viewing | Capturing family life with your smartphone
A creative project for parents of teenagers and young adults who are navigating family life through breast cancer
Learn how to create short films on your smartphone with, or for your teenager/young person over the course of 4 weeks with expertise from BAFTA-winning film documentary-maker and Fruit Fly Collective’s CEO.
IDEA BEHIND THE PROJECT:
We know it’s really hard to parent whilst living with breast cancer, or beyond cancer. Anxiety, fatigue, and pain all contribute to challenges navigating family life, one of which can be connecting with the young people in our families.
This project is designed so you can reconnect, or cement even further a meaningful relationship with your teen/young person. It could be just for you with your child in mind, or a co-project between you and your child. You might want to capture something fun, or document who you are outside of the parental role, or it might be about expressing yourselves in response to family changes. It is up to you.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This project is for any parent or carer who is living with breast cancer, who has had previous experience with breast cancer, or who is co-parenting with someone with breast cancer. Parents must be responsible for young people aged between 14-25 years.
This project is free. We hope to cover travel costs to the final screening event.
